LES HIRONDELLES,
Tarn
Characterized by wide open spaces, fresh invigorating air, and sheer chasms and cliffs Next to emerald pastures, the Tarn is renowned for its beautiful scenery, vineyards and regional cuisine: cassoulet, foie gras and confits de canard.
Les Hirondelles was built in the midst of this spectacular landscape in 1780, the first houses in the hamlet of Cabanes. The cottage was originally the baking and curing house for the hamlet, and it rests on a 2-1/2 acre lawn shared with the main house. A gently sloping hill provides stunning views of the surrounding countryside, including the delightful Forest of Gresigne (the former hunting ground of the Count of Toulouse), which borders the property. On a clear day the Pyrénées are visible.
Both the cottage and main house were recently renovated to a high standard and offer very comfortable accommodation. They maintain a wealth of old-world character-exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and terra cotta tiled floors. An old bread oven still resides in the front entryway of the cottage. Private outdoor dining terraces overlook the pool and offer views across rolling green hills.
History, cuisine and comfort make Les Hirondelles ideal for holidays year-round.
