Perthshire
Location:
Tombuie, near Aberfeldy

The Schoolhouse Photos
Ancient woods and lovely fields. Breathtaking lochs and hills whose crags and slopes are high but not too wild. For hundreds of years this landscape has stirred the souls of poets such as Robert Burns, William Wordsworth and Sir Walter Scott. In the heart of Scotland's Central Highlands, three miles from the unspoiled village of Aberfeldy, a short wooded drive brings you to a grove on a sunny knoll. Wild pheasants greet you from the fields as you approach the Schoolhouse. Roses cling to the whitewashed exterior of this lovely traditional home surrounded by shrubs and trees.
A tile-lined fireplace warms the cozy living room—perfect for afternoon tea and conversation. The eat-in country kitchen has French doors that open to an enclosed porch. The house sleeps six comfortably, combining tradition deftly with modern convenience.
After experiencing firsthand the delicious beauty of this incredible part of Scotland, Burns wrote in 1787, "Come let us spend the lichtsome days in the Birks of Aberfeldie." Take up his invitation at the Schoolhouse.
