GRANTULLY COTTAGE, Perthshire
Location: near Aberfeldy

Grantully Cottage Photos

This Victorian-era cottage, built in the 1860s, was originally part of the large and beautiful Grantully (pronounced "Grant-ly") Estate. It was completely, and very tastefully, refurbished in 1996, retaining many original features. The property still belongs to the family whose ancestors have lived here for more than 600 years -- Grantully Castle is just a mile down the road.

The cottage sleeps six comfortably, with a welcoming living room and two woodburning fireplaces (one in the living room, another in the master bedroom). Outdoors, a beautiful lawn gently slopes to a woodland garden. Wildflowers, ferns, roses, cherry trees and pink willow herb abound. There is free trout fishing across the road, and an abundance of unusual birds, pheasants, rabbit, and deer to enjoy.

A wonderful and mysterious oak wood lies just beyond the cottage grounds. Stroll through fields along an old railway into the charming town of Aberfeldy. Another route along the River Tay leads to Grandtully Village. Take a morning jog along the river, visit nearby stone circles, or visit Scotland's smallest, and possibly most picturesque, single-malt whisky distillery nearby.

From castles to shopping, golf to fishing, walking to hiking to cycling - you'll find it all on your doorstep at beautiful Grantully Cottage.
