Situated in Wester Ross, the village of Applecross is approached by the spectacular Bealach-na-Ba, the Pass of the Cattle. A breathtaking panorama awaits at the top of the pass -- layers of misty peaks rise majestically in the distance with the Isle of Skye and the mountains and sea spread out below.

In Gaelic, Applecross is known as A'Chomraich, or "the sanctuary," a name derived from the area's early Christian heritage. The village of Applecross is beautiful with an air of peace that is hard to equal. Its broad bay stretches across the Inner Sound to the island of Raasay.

Applecross Estate is unique and stunningly beautiful, with five separate rental properties spread throughout. Each has been renovated within the past few years to provide very comfortable lodgings that can accommodate from two to a dozen people.

The estate is a superb base for birdwatchers, walkers and those who simply wish to relax. Highland cattle and wild deer graze in the fields, and there are many birds and wild mammals to observe. The grounds are covered with beautiful trees and colorful flowers. Several long beaches nearby provide the perfect place to walk, relax or wade.

Applecross Estate is the very essence of tranquillity. This is a place you can truly relax and experience the wildness that is Scotland.
