Thirty minutes of driving the country roads brings you to Avignon, 60 minutes to Aix-en-Provence. Five minutes away is the village of Mormoiron with its shops and boulangeries. But if travel seems too great an effort, then simply sit by the pool with its view of the vineyards - or enjoy the local wine and cheese and breads on the pergola-covered dining terrace. 

The interior of the home provides a wonderfully comfortable emvironment. Decorated in provençal style, and retaining original features such as exposed beams and wall niches, Les Vignes' three spacious double bedrooms, sunny living room (with fireplace if there's an evening chill), kitchen and two full baths assure that your stay will be a comfortable one.

The pergola-covered terrace is ideal for outdoor dining. The fenced swimming pool is located in an area chosen for its privacy with lovely views of the surrounding vineyards.

• Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is one of the largest antique centers in Europe, well known for its  Sunday antiques market.
  
• The arches of the Roman aqueduct at Pont du Gard are a familiar and dramatic landmark.
  
• The 12th century Cistercian Abbaye de Sénanque, surrounded by lavender fields, can be visited on the way to the dramatic hilltop village of Gordes.
  
• Vaison-la-Romaine is a beautiful village with extensive Roman ruins.
  
• St-Remy has many attractions, including boulevards lined with plane trees, frequent art exhibitions, Roman relics, and a permanent exhibit on the life of Vincent Van Gogh.
  
• The region abounds with vineyards. Among celebrated appellations in the immediate area are Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
  
• The Sorgue river emerges from underground through a dramatic hole in a cliff at Fontaine de Vaucluse.
  
• The stunning but little-known Gorges de la Nesque is felt by some to be the most spectacular scenery in the Vaucluse.
  
• Annual festivals: The Avignon theater and dance festival is held in July. A performing arts festival takes place in Vaison-la-Romaine from July to September. The Sault lavender festival is held in August.

• The nearest airport is in Marseille, 1 1/4 hours away. Downtown Marseille and its train station are 1 1/2 hours away.
  
• Paris is 3 1/4 hours away by TGV - the nearest stop is 1/2 hour away at Avignon.
  
• Aix-en-Provence is one hour away.

Cook, maid service and babysitting can be arranged for an extra fee.
