MAS DES DAUPHINS

Provence, Bouches-du-Rhone
Location: Maussane-les-Alpilles

Mas des Dauphins Photos

As soon as you pass through the intricate wrought-iron gates leading to Mas des Dauphins, you feel as if you've entered a special world of tranquillity. This beautiful villa faces south and has a lovely shaded terrace running its length. The terrace overlooks a large pool, and a dramatic view of the Alpilles mountain range forms the backdrop.

Cypress trees, large shrubs and other mature plantings dot the spacious grounds, forming a lush cushion between you and the outside world. Serenity and privacy are two of the special features that set this house apart.

Mas des Dauphins was built 150 years ago as a small farmhouse and has had several additions over the years. The superb taste of its French and American owners is evident throughout. This is their primary residence, and it shows.

The house is a 10-minute walk from the charming village of Maussane-les-Alpilles in the Bouches-du-Rhône section of Provence. The village boasts a number of restaurants (including one with a Michelin star), a variety of small shops and a central plaza with gurgling fountain surrounded by café tables, making this a perfect spot for relaxing any time of day.
